This was a unique "live performance" shoot because I shot it in layers. I really was able to manipulate the light for each scene and achieve a nice tonal range in the footage. I had shot with Karriem before while he was rehearsing for the UCLA Jazz/Reggae Festival, so I had a sense of what to look out for when capturing him.
